| Requirements/Eligibility: Student must have played and lettered in a recognized high school sport - cheerleading is considered a sport; must rank in the top 10 percent of their class and be a resident of Va. Beach; must be a U.S. citizen of good morals and have displayed strong characteristics of leadership; submit a scholarship application and a letter of approximately 200 words giving information about participation in school and community activities, educational plans, career goals, and reasons for believing that they are eligible for a scholarship from VBSC; submit a letter of recommendation from the School Principal, Coach, or Counselor; and a transcript of grade and class rank must accompany the application. A minimum of three qualified candidates should be provided from each high school. Student may receive partial scholarship aid from other sources, but becomes ineligbile for the VBSC sholarship if they received a full scholarship from another source. Please turn in completed application to your High School Guidance Department for review and approval. |
