VBCPS Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team to host Back-to-School Care Fair |
The Virginia Beach City Public Schools Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team will host a Back-to-School Care Fair on Aug. 13 to help families connect with valuable resources. For the first time, this year’s event will offer a vaccination clinic*, physicals and transportation to the event from several locations. The Care Fair is free, open to all VBCPS students and will feature more than 90 youth-serving community partners. With family-friendly entertainment, presentations, raffles, a backpack giveaway and fun activities, there’s sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. More details are below. Back-to-School Care Fair Students will also receive free haircuts, vision screenings and posture screenings. Giveaways include books, door prizes and free backpacks for the first 1,300 students. Interpreters will be available on site. Event participants have a great opportunity to learn about the following programs and resources:
* To receive a physical and/or vaccinations, bring an ID, vaccination record and insurance card (if available). Community partners for the 2022 Back-to-School Care Fair include Virginia Beach Education Foundation, Coastal Edge, Langley Federal Credit Union, Rudy & Kelly Academy, the Lions Club and many more.
