Join Us on Our Ongoing Journey to Student Success

We want all students to be future ready.
Since 2015, the school division has used its strategic plan, Compass to 2020, to guide its work in ensuring all students are future ready. We listened to our community and responded to the mandate to move beyond rote learning and standardized testing, which is why, under our current plan, we articulated the attributes students should possess to be successful in college, the workforce, or the military. These attributes, outlined in our Graduate Profile, are a driving force behind the work we've been engaged in under Compass to 2020.To learn more about the Graduate Profile, click here or the image to the right.

We have made great progress.
Under the leadership of Compass to 2020, the school division has seen great success, including being a fully accredited school division for two consecutive years, having the highest on-time graduation rate and lowest dropout rate on record and seeing more students, from more diverse backgrounds, enroll and excel in Advanced Placement courses. Preparing All Students To Be

We can go further together.
As 2020 approaches, we are evaluating our current strategic plan to set priorities and goals for the future. Gathering input from students, parents, teachers, staff, and members of the community is an important part of the process. Thank you to all of those who shared your input in the school division's virtual town hall. Input will be shared with a steering committee comprised of students, parents, teachers, school division staff and leaders from higher education, the military, community organizations and business. That committee will identify priorities and draft the next strategic framework, which will be shared for public comment before it goes to the School Board for adoption later in 2019.
