Virginia Beach School Board holds annual retreat: Hears progress reports on strategic plan and other issues

The Virginia Beach School Board held its annual retreat on July 9 and 10, 2012, at the Renaissance Academy. On the  first day of the School Board received progress reports from school year 2011-12 relative to  the Compass to 2015 strategic plan. Co-chairs of the five strategic objectives and members of their implementation teams and school-based teams made presentations. The Board provided feedback to the presenters regarding direction for the future. The overall PowerPoint presentation from all five Strategic Objective teams is included here. Questions about this presentation, should be directed to Donald Robertson, assistant superintendent of educational leadership and assessment at [email protected].

On the second day of the retreat, the School Board received presentations on high school scheduling, compensation issues regarding the unified scale (the non-instructional scale), and budget/funding formula.
